Dick Lee, a prominent figure in the musical scene in Singapore, has written for many staged musicals such as Beauty World (1988) and Jacky Cheung’s Snow.Wolf.Lake (1997). Having won numerous awards for his albums, Dick is popular in Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan. This highly-acclaimed musician has achieved regional prominence for Lion City and The Mad Chinaman.
Through Singapore Music 101, the National Library Board is going to bring you closer to the man who championed the acceptance of Asian elements in pop music. Dick will share with the audience his personal experiences in the music industry.
Singapore Music 101, your personal guide to Singapore's musical landscape, will provide you with an insight of our local music scene. Audience will be enriched with the milestones that had shaped our music industry over the years with Kevin Mathews, veteran singer-songwriter and founder of music review website www.powerofpop.com.
This forum-styled programme also serves as an engaging and interactive platform between the audience and artistes.
