Once upon a time,

learning music was a luxury. And yet, those who could, if any, were often compelled to playing classical music. It was the 70s and 80s, and popular music, such as britpop, motown, country, and what we now call evergreens, were the mass music everyone listened to. Classical music wasn't the easiest language for many.

Those who had more money, or determination, against all odds, endeavoured studying music abroad and majored in the less popular music of the time, jazz.

Others simply ventured into forming rock and pop bands, singing songs by Ace of Base, or Beyond.

The budding scene in Singapore, grew to where it is now. Though still green, has developed shoots and is quickly growing.

We are of this time, folks.

The time where the economy is doing well, and our parents say, go go learn what you want, and simply enjoy.

I'd just like to say,
if only we could adopt the passion and commitment of the past and the abundance of today.

Let's be the witness to a rich music scene of this millenium.
